This awesome box arrived the other day!
Of course, I just happened to be sick with an awful cold/sinus infection when the shoes arrived, so all I could do was stare at them.
Then we had a snow day yesterday, which doubled as another “sick day” for me.
Since I still wasn’t feeling well, I decided to take things easy in the morning. And by easy, I mean an hour of Body Pump and shoveling my parent’s driveway.
I needed an hour long nap to recover.
When I woke up I decided to try a short “easy run.” This type of run would be the perfect to try out the Saucony Virratas. The Virrata is Saucony’s new zero drop, lightweight, flexible running shoe. Since I don’t normally train in zero drop shoes, I didn’t want to run too many miles and cause an injury.
2 miles, 16:34, 8;17 pace (not bad for being sick!)
Since I wasn’t coughing uncontrollably, I decided to run another mile and make it 3 miles total. That, and my guilty pleasure, “Pretty Little Liars” still had 10 minutes or so left in the episode I was watching.
The 3 mile run ended with my head pounding, teeth hurting, and some coughing, BUT, I really liked the shoes!
More to come on the Saucony Virratas as they rack up the miles…
- Have you ever tried zero drop shoes?…yes!
- Do you have a TV guilty pleasure…Pretty Little Liars and The Bachelor
Disclaimer: Saucony sent me the Virrata shoes as part of the Fitfluential Ambassador Program. The thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my personal, honest opinions.

I love the colors! I haven’t tried zero drop shoes before, but am intrigued by them! I’ll have to check them out
Every time I see a new review of those shoes, I keep thinking… I really need to get my hands on a pair. I would LOVE to try them!
I’ve read other good reviews about this shoe. The closest I’ve come to zero drop is my Newtons which are a 4mm or something like that.
I am also a Bachelor addict as my guilty pleasure TV!!!
I’m very jealous of your shoes! I haven’t tried zero drop but those look like my kind of shoe (sine they are Saucony and they have the cushioning). I would definitely only use them for really short runs, though. I’m way too injury-prone.
I have lots of tv guilty pleasures, we watch way too much tv.
I’ve use vibram but found I need mor cushioning…. I love the Hokas which are a 4mm drops. When apprentice comes back on it will be guilty pleasure show
feel better soon, sweetie!! make sure you take care of yourself! xxoo
